Birthday

Interstellar News: It’s my 34th birthday!

I share this day with Frank Sinatra, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and at least five good friends.

As we’re in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, we had a very low key birthday for me. My Dad called at 11:00 am, when I was officially born via C-section in 1986. Lunch was a car date with the husband, using a gift card I recently found while cleaning out my wallet. We worked on a puzzle for a bit, had a friend drive by to say hi, and then I had a video chat with a dear friend after our family walk. We did a video dinner with my two dear friends in New York while we both ordered Indian take out and bullshitted for about an hour. I spoke with many of my friends and family either through posts, texts, or phone calls throughout the day. I also was sung to by not one, not two, but three of my friends today and several of my family members.

It’s still hard to know I won’t hear from my mom or any of my grandparents. It was also difficult to not be with all of my loved ones, especially since I had such a wonderful birthday last year and many of the previous years. It’s just so hard to get excited about this birthday or any of the upcoming holidays. Anyway, I’ll be back to Trek writing tomorrow as I did get two episodes in today… I’m just tired and enjoying the last few hours of my actual birthday.
